I went because I really enjoy Drew Barrymore. But this movie seemed to me really contrived. The swearing in the movie was too much - like throwing in "f bombs" every couple of words would make it hip and likeable. The characters, while sweet, were not that likeable. They never developed the characters enough so that you cared about them or what happened. I actually couldn't wait for this movie to be over.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Sad but well written

I thougth the movie was well written. The two little girls in the movie brought warmth and humor and were a treat to watch. The story is powerful and sad. Toby and Natalie's characters should have been fleshed out a little more as a couple. Overall, I think it makes you think about soldiers and the horrific things they go through and then have to come back and try to deal with life.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
