The first half of the movie really seemed like nothing more than an excuse for violence, albeit entertaining for the most part. Heath Ledger's performance was just incredible, however, and really made the movie worthwhile. the rest of the acting was sub-par, and this is coming from an avid Christian Bale fan. I don't think this movie would have gotten nearly the hype it did without Heath Ledger's performance, and sadly, his passing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
