A "Sparknotes" version of the book

Without giving anything away, I did like the film and would recommend it. While enjoyable, if you've read Stephenie Meyer's novel, the film will leave many details to be desired. The screenwriter had to reduce hundreds of pages, or 14 hours of audiobook, into a two hour visual experience. No easy task. However, it captures many of the main moments we loved reading about and specific quotes from the book. Some scenes felt rushed or jumped across. As for the special FX, they did a great job. I appreciate the actors' interpretation as they displayed humor, tension, action, and love. When the other films are released, I'll join the long movieplex line, hoping they captured the essence of Meyer's storytelling.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
