Absolutely and undeniably . . . good

Heath Ledger is as excellent as you've heard. Aaron Eckhart is almost as good. The action sequences are tense and spectacular. The pace is breakneck despite 2 1/2 hours of length. Overall, the film is bleak and violent and surprisingly unengaging. As fine as "Dark Knight" is, I had forgotten about it before I got back to my car.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
