I didn't buy the villain and thought the conflict to be a little contrived, but you know what, IT DIDN"T MATTER... the movie is so great, and the real beauty of the movie is the origins story of how the enterprise crew comes together. So great, run, don't walk!!!
While I enjoyed myself for the most part, I felt that this movie really dragged on. I was aware of how long I was sitting there, which is the mark of a movie that drags too much. I thought the plot was entirely too predictable, the characters were sometimes caricatures of themselves-- Miranda in particular, I mean, when is she going to learn something, anything, and relax a little? There was no connection between Kristin Davis and the girl playing her daughter... she didn't seem motherly at all, it looked more like she was toting around a little token. So basically, I didn't see a lot of depth in the performances, and I'll agree with another reviewer on here-- it was really insane that they were wearing heels and designer clothing ALL the time. Seriously, they were packing up a whole apartment in fancy dresses and that looked just ridiculous. All that said, i still laughed a lot and once or twice came close to crying. It was nice to see the girls on the big screen.
