Although there may have been some OVERacting, the personal aspects of this story made it quite wrenching. That said (and I hope I'm not giving too much away), I still don't understand why "Day 1" of the epidemic was put at the end of the movie.
Xcellent movie in terms of Sci-Fi action. Best ever? Arguable. In terms of chronology, not quite flawless. The third Xmen showed Xavier and Magneto together when they met Jean Grey; in this movie, not even a whisper about her. (Maybe Magneto and Professor X reunite later on, briefly?)
What more can I say. The basic storyline is quite logical: Man tries to save his father who got trapped in a digital world he helped create. The idea that a digital character could become completely flesh and blood though, as this movie concludes with, is rather mind-blowing. Nevertheless, this is bound to be a classic sci-fi movie.
Fascinating premise, or theme for a horror movie: the devil can forcibly take the souls of the wicked and the only way to thwart him is to be humble enough to simply confess. Brilliant!
Ignoring the purists who thought only actors of Asian descent should be in this, this was a great sci-fi action movie ranking up there, I would say, with the Matrix. I only hope this is the first in a "pentology" (whatever you would call a 5-movie series).
To start with, it was definitely not the sequel I suspected it would be. For an alternate take on the original, this was pretty imaginative. One question: Klaatu was saving Earth from humans doing WHAT to it? Global warming? Just wasn't clear.
What I liked best about this Bond was the instant info updates between 007 and M. Although there are some things Bond can do without, I don't think gadgets from Q are one of them. Also, moving the "Bond walking/shooting gun site" from the beginning of the movie to the end was disappointing.
