My husband and I took our 14 & 19 year old children with us to see this, and we all enjoyed it immensely! As someone who grew up in NY, going to concerts and theater, I jumped on the chance to see this (I read about the production in the NYTimes when they were putting it together, wishing I could go to Lincoln Center, but I live in the DC area). It was amazing watching the NY Philharmonic collaborate on a musical; the staging was terrific, and the cast was amazing!!
This movie was the worst one so far in the series; Bella & Edward are just boring to watch at this point! The actors are doing the best they can with the material; 90 minutes would have been long enough to get through this trite story. The most interesting part was the back story scenes for Rosalie and Jasper.
My husband and I, who took our 3 kids (11, 14, 16) to see this, after they've been hooked on the series through watching them at home, loved that this was in the spirit of the original series. The story was fun & full of Spielberg trademarks, which we appreciate; the connections with other themes across his films was great!
