Love the books, movies need work

I'm a fan so I watch the movies regardless of the reviews, but I still want to give an honest review. If you're a fan, you will enjoy the movie. If you aren't a fan, you will think the movie sucks.
In Twilight, most of the funny moments were tongue-in-cheek, placed on purpose by the director, and somewhat endearing. In New Moon, it seems these moments probably were not meant to be funny, and at times you are almost embarassed for the director. The suspense is gone and it seems the raw emotions are not projected as well. The action and effects are improved, but most of the fans didn't require big-budget effects. Going back to directing basics would have been a better use of budget as the key actors are capable of quality performances.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
