One of the best movies I've seen in a long while. Too bad it's out too late for this year's awards and will be forgotten by next year's. Beautiful cinematography. My only criticism is the actor who plays the "comic" of the group had way too much "meat" on his bones to have been a starving prisoner and escapee walking for 4000 miles to freedom with little to no food or water. Why didn't the director note this? The other actors were much more believable.
It was a good movie, but I was disappointed in some of the changes and things that were left out from the book version. Humor was good and choice of casting of Bill Nighy as Scrimjiour was an excellent choice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Visually breathtaking. Acting (especially Sigourney Weaver) was horrible. Script and story line/theme was predictable and cliche' but this is not the type of movie that is going to win awards in anything but visual effects. You must see it in 3D to get the best experience.
