Rossini's manic genius tempos are displayed perfectly. Peter Mattei shows he has a BIG voice I haven't heard since P. Domingo. Florez as Count Almaviva is uneven, sometimes very good, once even atonal. Joyce DiDonato delivers an iconic Rosina.
This is worth seeing. Anyone with a smidgeon of consciousness would be engaged (stunned, maybe) immediately by Mattei's "Figaro"
