This movie was very good. I went with 5, 8, 9 and 10 year olds and they all loved it. I could have done without some of the crude humor, but it went over the kids heads thankfully. There was one part where I got a little lost but it quickly picked up speed. They did a great job of recapping some highlights from the first movie. This was great for younger kids so they would remember how the characters ended up where they were. All ages will have something to enjoy with this movie whether or not you have kids.
They outdid themselves. Zac and the others really upped their performances. My 9 year old nephew loves the HSM franchise and this was his second time seeing the movie. My 5 year old niece was laughing and enthralled througout the entire movie. All the adults in our group loved the movie and want to see it again. I think the rating should be PG with half naked boys in towels and Zac w/o his shirt and you could see his underwear. I thought these parts were unnecessary. The music was beautiful and the flow of the story was perfect. It brought back memories of when you are ending high school and the decisions one has to make. All ages will love this movie.
This is a lovely move for the whole family. It has some history from one of the hardest times in America. It shows that no matter how bad things are if you keep at it you can succeed. I would recommend this wholesome movie to any age group. It is nice to have a movie that the whole family can enjoy without the cursing and vulgarity that are coming out nowadays.
Shia shows he is a leading man with great depth and passion in this movie. If you like action movies, then you will love this movie. It is action packed with a great story that has great flow to it. I never got bored and was glued to the screen. You do need some suspension of belief when it comes to what the computer can do. Otherwise, it is a great movie. There are a lot of sub-plots but they all connect smoothly with no holes or confusion. You really need to see this movie and if it is in I-MAX then see it there. You will not be disappointed.
1)I did not read the book. 2)Never compare books to movies. The story has to change to make it work. It shows: how young kids can make a difference when they persevere and how greed (shown by the marvelous performance by Bill Murray) can lead to bad things. It's the story of two young kids and how they believed they could help their own community. The city is breaking down and they must find a way to save them by finding a way out of Ember. Most other adults have failed but they continue onwards. I think kids will really enjoy this movie from ages 9 and up. Adults will also enjoy the movie. It is well acted and the flow of the story is easy to follow and entertaining. It is well worth the money. A clean movie with no rudeness or vulgarity.
I went with excitement thinking this would be a great scary movie. The trailer was the best part of the movie. If you saw Cloverfield and got sick, then you will be suffering greatly from motion sickness. The camera was hand held by a filming crew and moved so much it made you dizzy. You could barely see what was happening. You really didn't get a good look at the "sick zombies". The "disease" seemed to take a short time to take some over yet others went very quickly. They did this to try to speed up the story but did a bad job. Yes there are many scary parts in this movie and you will be jumping in your seat. But, the moving camera picture takes away from the overall enjoyment of the horror aspects.
This movie was dull and boring. It made no sense. There were so many spots that bring the entire film to a halt and ruin the flow. They glorified nudity and rape. I knew there would be some nudity but there is just so much one can take when it does not add to the story or flow. Moore was amazing and that is why I give the movie 1 star. Unfortunately, her performance could not save this movie. I'm not exactly sure what this movie is about except that people go blind, then see again. The world falls apart but then all of a sudden is back to normal. It is not realistic. The so called look into what happens to man when tradegy strikes was a total failure. It was dull, boring, immoral and not worth the time or money. Pass on this one!
I waited for the DVD version which was unrated. I think by the reviews it was probably better then the theater version. It had a lot of tense scenes with some surprises you don't expect. The acting was a bit drab but the general flow of the movie keeps you entertained. It has the scary factor which I like but it also had the predictable factor which I don't like. All in all I think this would be a great weekend date movie. It's fun, scary and exciting. It is well worth the cost of renting the unrated DVD version.
This movie is a barrel of laughs. My 5 1/2 year old niece and 9 year old nephew never stopped laughing. I don't know what the critics were talking about but this movie will also appeal to adults. I found this movie both funny and heartwarming. The dogs are adorable and its amazing at how well they acted in the movie. The dogs outshine the humans. Drew Barrymore voiced the main character of Chloe. I found her voicing to be sub-standard but the cuteness of the dog makes up for her lackluster performance. Kids from 3 and up will love this movie. There is no language or rude comments. It is nice to go see a clean wholesome and fun family movie. I highly recommend you see this movie.
I didn't have great expectations for this movie. But, I was pleasantly surprised and enthralled throughout the movie. I felt Amy Adams overacted in all her scenes. Frances McDormand really held this movie together. It was fun to see the transformation of McDormand's character, Miss Pettigrew, from a frumpy nanny to a classy lady of real determination and savvy. It was nice to see a comedy that didn't have the crude humor that most comedies have nowadays. It was clean fun all the way. Yes, there were a few nude shots but they were short and tolerable. Once Miss Pettigrew starts working for Amy Adams character the movie shoots off and keeps you entertained. It is well written and played out. A lovely movie to rent or own.
