I thought this was one of Jodie Foster's best movies as far as her acting. The story is a little strange and needs a bit of suspended belief to get through it. It is a good movie to curl up to and watch with the family. It is heartwarming and gives some good lessons. One is to never give up. I recommend this movie to all ages.
This movie is a classic. It is well done and well written. It brings new meaning to our first encounters with another race. They are not evil, bent on killing human beings. They are gentle feeling creatures who want to get to know us better. I saw this movie as a child and have always loved it. The new updated version with remastered visuals were amazing and just brought more to this amazing movie. You need to rent the remastered version. The Blu Ray was the best.
I was unable to get to the IMAX to see the Dark Knight. I really wished I did go. I bet it was amazing. The movie was intense, exciting and thrilling. If it is still in IMAX by you go see it. It is well worth the extra bucks. Heath did an amazing job as the Joker. Bale was a wonderful brooding Batman. I love this movie!!! If you have Blu Ray ability this is the one to buy.
I loved the first film and this one tops it. Heath was a wonderful Joker. I was hesitant because I loved Nicholson so much as the Joker. But, I was not disappointed. The action is intense. You will be glued to your seats and not be able to get up even though it is a long movie. I did not mind the length. You could not take one piece out or it would have been ruined. Bale takes my breath away as Batman. This movie is worth the money to buy or rent. The most exciting movie this year by far.
I am a huge James Bond fan from the first film. This film had the action but was not, in my opinion, a Bond film. It lacked the finese of the Bond films that I love so much. This movie strayed away from the Bond film genre I love so much. It got way too personal. Bond got way too emotional. If you just want a fun action movie then fine go see it. If you are a true Bond fan do not waste your money.
I am an avid fan of Star Wars. I have not really looked into this animated version so I thought I'd give it a chance. Yes it has great action scenes. Yes it may be a bit on the funny side. But, it fails to follow the movies and goes way off track. It does not fit into the established stories of the movies at all. It changes may basic ideas that makes this animated feature fall very short of creating a continued story of Star Wars. I would not waste your money on this film unless you are a huge fan and want to see for yourself.
This was a good movie and I did enjoy it as did my 5 1/2 year old niece and 9 year old nephew and his friends 8 and 10 1/2. The first movie was far more endearing with a better story. You can barely understand what the penquins are saying but they are the funniest characters in the movie. The monkeys are funny as well. It does recap what happened in the first movie to help you remember how the characters ended up where they were. The crude humor was inappropriate and unneccesary. This movie is just as good on a regular screen as compared to the IMAX screen. I don't think it is worth the extra money to see it on IMAX.
I brought a 5 year old and 9 year old to the movie and they both loved it. The beginning was a bit violent and scary for younger viewers but it calms down after 10 - 15 minutes into the film. This is a worthwhile and clean family movie. Whether you decide to do 3D or not the movie is thrilling and exciting. It is fun for all ages from kids to adults. You will not be bored. My niece could not stop talking about the bad guy and that he is going to jail. She talked about it all night and she is 5. The movie definitely caught her attention. You have to see this movie on the big screen, it is well worth the money.
It was a joy to watch this movie. The 3D was excellent and just added to the movie experience. Its about time we had a clean descent movie to take kids to without worry about crude humor or cursing. It does have some intense scenes that are loud and slightly scary for younger viewers. Older kids of 8 and above will love the action. The story is heartwarming and keeps you involved with all the characters. You really care about the characters and go along on each of their journeys. This is an excellent family movie for kids of all ages. Adults will also enjoy the movie. It is not boring. Well worth the money.
This was a great movie, but is very much a chick flick. It was nice to sit through a movie without the crude humor, curses and nasty stuff in films these days. I was never bored and was glued to the screen throughout the entire movie. The pants represent a friendship of these girls and helps keep them together. If we all had such relationships maybe the world would be a better place. A great movie to watch with some of your own best friends. Well worth the money to rent or own.
