Precious is POWERFUL

The book was very graphic and depressing and there wasn't much of an ending as far as I was concerned. The movie though was pretty close to the book, but not as graphic. They did manage to put in a few light and even funny moments so that it wouldn't be so depressing. I thought overall it was well done and just showed how resilient she was in spite of everything. I only wish there wasn't a handful of theatres showing this film.
Monique and Gaborey (sp?) played the heck out their roles and so did Paula Patton & Mariah Carey.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
