The movie is delightful; full of explosions and fantastic cgi affects to delight the eye. However, the movie follows the book a little too far into the woods... literally. Half of the movie takes place in a tent as the despair and drama ekes out into everyone's tender places to evoke our empathy for the heroic trio's plight in ... camping. When the movie picks up again, it does with abandon and becomes a rollicking ride of awesome. This movie was everything it was expected to be and then some.
This movie was well written and paced. The references to the T.V. show only enhance the story further. McBride and Friel punch up the volume even farther comically, and make this a truly fantastic movie. Well worth a watch and I can't wait for the DVD!
