The Further Adventures Of Captain Jack

More laugh out loud moments than the previous installments, with two intriguing storylines: one featuring Jack and Blackbeard's daughter, the other a young missionary and a mermaid. It was fun to watch, easy to follow. I had thought there would be less of the supernatural, but it wasn't as overall weird as At World's End. A nice addition to the POTC series. Sit through the credits to catch that last scene, a potential hint of things to come!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Better Than Expected

Are they just hyping Heath Ledger's performance because of his death? No. His performance is exceptional and very memorable. Jack Nicholson was the quintessential Joker, but anyone who sees this film will forever think of Mr. Ledger as the greatest Joker ever. Does it follow the graphic novel by Frank Miller? No. Just as they reinvented the story of how Bruce Wayne decided to become a batty vigilante, they have also taken liberties in introducing both the Joker and Two-Face in a surprisingly thoughtful story with plenty of unexpected twists. The pacing is steady—there are no slow spots and nothing going so fast you can't follow it. The filmmakers got no more high-tech than a good Bond flick while retaining as much realism as possible. At two and half hours, the speeding bus with a bomb on it feel satisfies without feeling overly long. The Dark Knight should be the basic template all future action films should follow. My boyfriend is not a Batman fan and went begrudgingly just because I wanted to go so bad, and he's telling people now it's one of the best movies he's ever seen in his life.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
