Man, my friends and I were so disappointed! We thought it would wow us like "Chicago" but nothing could be further from that. The story was sooooo weak, I really did not give one hoot about Guido or anyone else in the movie. I liked Kate Hudson's number, but it was, as my boyfriend Tony said, like watching "Cats". Alot of big numbers with little to no story tying it together. Believe me, when 5 "single" men all hate a musical, it must be bad. Even my 7 year old son, who loves musicals, said "yawn!" Skip it, don't rent it, don't buy it, just run the other way.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

We thoroughly enjoyed this movie, beginning to end, like a good Julia-cooked French meal. All ingredients are fresh (even the eggs), from casting to writing to acting to art direction. Meryl Streep wins you over in the 1st 10 seconds and never lets you down. I found myself wishing this movie was 4 hours long. I hope Meryl Streep gets an Oscar nom for this, if she wins all the fans of this movie will cheer!
