Great Movie, but many holes in the script

The movie was for the most part great and the characters were casted well. However, I found numerous things that were impossible to understand or make sense of. Like how did Kirk know so much about a ship he barely had time to become familiar with and then win a battle with an experienced enemy with a more advanced ship ? Or if Scotty could transport onto a ship going a warp speed, how come it wasn't shown in the "original Star Trek" since that took place later in life. And how could Spok as a young man have a conversation with himself as an old man in the same time and space ? I found Spok too emotional. The other reviewer is right. This Star Trek is great, but nullifies earlier Star Treks.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
