This was a lot better film adaptation than I thought could be done to the original Marvel comic - yes I am a former comic collector. At first I thought Robert Downey Jr. was a weird choice to play Tony Stark - as in the comic, the charater is a lot more polished and not very goofy. However, Downey's quirkiness really adds dimension to the character. Jeff Bridges(the dude) was really a surprisingly good villian as well. All the acting and action is great, the movie is intelligent without being too Tom Clancy and has just the right amount of CGI. Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine / Audioslave makes a surprise appearance as one of the insurgents. Blink and you may miss him. Anyway, recommended for the whole family and small animals too! :-)
