Interesting concept (won't say more without spoiling the movie) but I've seen the actors in other movies do much better jobs; leaving me to believe M. Night can't write or direct, he peaked with his first movie and has gone steadily down hill. Awkward characters who are compltely hard to relate or sympathize with and at 90 minutes, I'd almost say add 30 minutes and do more to make the characters believable.
A complete eye candy movie and you'd expect the dialogue to fall way short, while it was campy at times, it fit in to the movie as a whole. There was a good balance between the action packed races and the thin story about doing what's right fit in between those spaces. I was pleasantly surprised.
A movie of choosing the lesser evils for the greater good set against the violent backdrop of crooked LAPD cops. Decent twists in the story, good pacing, a strong supporting cast, Keanu's wooden acting didn't detract too much and actually helped sell the more "confused" moments of his character.
