I thoroughly enjoyed the first three quarters of this movie, it had an interesting story line, good acting, etc. But there's a significant event that, in my mind, begins the movie's downward spiral. Its a strange and uncomfortably sexual scene that throws the movie into the 'Where the hell did that come from?' category. I was dissapointed with the thrown-together-at-the-last-minute ending. I wish it had ended as well as it began. I'm glad I saw it, but I wont watch it again.
While I was entertained the whole time, this movie was not at all what I had anticipated. The plot twist was supposed to be so unexpected, but I had it figured in the first half hour of the movie. I will always love Leonardo DiCaprio, and his performance was stellar, but the movie left something to be desired.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"The best movie experience I've ever had"

After seeing this movie with my family, my grandfather looked over at me (I had invited him last minute) and told me that Avatar 3D was the best movie experience he'd ever had. He is a movie buff in his 70s, and he was like a giddy child. This movie transports you to where movies should, a world of fantasy, excitement, and sheer awe. James Cameron created an entire world, an eco-system of flora and fauna beyond anything the average Joe could comprehend, a culture and language more beautiful than anything we've seen in a long time. This movie is the epitome of success, so I encourage everyone to ignore the 're-used storyline' arguments and take a chance. I promise you, you will not be dissapointed.
As a chick who doesnt often appreciate needless violence, I found this movie beyond hilarious. I was laughing out loud through the whole thing, Brad Pitt was obviously genius, but every actor in the movie was brilliant. Christoph Waltz was incredible, Melanie Laurent was perfect, an incredible cast of relatively unknown (to me) names. The end will have you cheering and laughing. I HIGHLY recommend this movie to anyone who can appreciate good crude humor.
