Of course, read or re-read the book. No movie adaptation could ever do the book justice. However, this was good. It was funny and sweet and made you jump in all the right places. As always, the visual effects and score/soundtrack were mesmerizing and while the actors may not have been superb in all cases, their funny, quirky nuances gave those of us who have read the books a true feeling of knowing that the person on the screen was the character we love so much - even if some critical character elements or plots lines were overlooked. After all, something has to be left behind to give us bookreaders pure enjoyment. We will forever know those characters and that story better than anyone that just watches the movies.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
