Lots of Longing

This movie was very well done. Just like the books, there was so much LONGING you could have boxed it up and sold it on Ebay. I'm hopeful that young girls don't take this as real life romance, but for a fantasy it is great because it draws you in until you are breathing with the characters and forgetting where you "really" are.
I found many scenes to not be as scary as when I read them in the books, but still probably too intense for those under 8, I would think. The movie is very visually appealing with beautiful scenery (and I'm not just talking about the wolf pack) ;)
Was refreshing to see a movie where the girls were all clothed and the GUYS were showing more skin!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great Movie Experience

Six of us saw this on Opening Day - ages ranging from 9 to 67 - and the movie entertained all of us. I loved it: great plot, wonderful special effects...it provided a fun escape. I have not read the books, however. My 11 year old, who has, was bothered by one plot point which didn't happen in the book and was a feature of the movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Took two 8 yo's and two 10 yo's and 3 out of the 4 said it was their fave HSM. (1 said #2 was her fave).
All cute, all fun songs and amazing dances. 8 yo's snickered at seeing Troy's boxers in dances. Lots of "near kissing".
The most annoying part was Gabriella's "college" scenes: that they would take her before graduation, etc. - why could this not happen in Summer? She suddenly acquired a retro bike, which she looked like Gidget riding around campus and never had to lock up on bike racks?? I could've done without that, in favor of a more realistic college scene.
Overall, it was something the kids felt was a "must see" and a "probably will see again" - and again and again and again...
Yes, I recommend this movie.
