I have been a fan of Bill Murray since his appearance in Ghostbusters. The guy is a comedic genius from my standpoint. With movies like What About Bob, Caddyshack, Where the Buffalo Roam, and Life Aquatic under his belt, this one tops them all. It is a movie that will make you laugh in July, and make you cry from laughter in December. Truly a work of art.
This movie was a stepping stone for half of today's forgotten gems. Tim Burton hits home on this masterpiece. This movie was a classic when I was a kid, and it has proven to stand the test of time. You won't regret spending an hour and a half wrapped up in this amazing take on the afterlife!
This movie was oozing with symbolism. I loved the direction that Kevin Spacey took with this character. He was so normal. I think it is rare for an actor to play a normal character that has normal emotions. Typical Hollywood actors would not have been able to take an ordinary man and make him entertaining, but Spacey pulls it off nicely. This is a good one!
I liked the way this movie was going. It has a definite deeper meaning. But I just couldn't get past the acting. The writing and directing should win awards, but the acting should have them taken away. If we ever did get in contact with aliens, I think that this is probably the most likely way that it would happen. It was chilling, but slightly dry.
This was the first computer animation feature film, and the death of cartoons as we knew them. When I was a kid, I would think of cartoons as moving pictures. Now they are simply computer programs designed to talk and move like a person. It just seems like these days we are ripping off as many kid friendly movies as we can instead of taking the time to build a classic like the old days. But you can't blame the initial trigger. This movie is great!
Between the acting, writing, directing, and cinematography, this movie is a gold mine of entertainment. You will not be let down as you watch how Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon became legends in the mid 90s. This movie is absolutely perfect. It is one of the few movies with no flaws whatsoever.
This movie is excellent. I think Mr. Chase got a bad wrap from Hollywood, he is funny. I don't care who you are, if you don't laugh at least twice during this movie, check your pulse. This is a must see during the holidays.
I distinctly remember going to see this one in the theatre and laughing so hard I almost fell out of my seat. Now granted I was only 9 or so, but it made an impression. You can't go wrong with it, it even has John Candy in it!
I always thought this movie got more attention than it deserved. There really isn't anything special about the action or the actors. It is well written and the story is intriguing. I just wasn't all that impressed with it. It just seemed too dry for my taste.
I once wrote an entire paper about the classic nature of Point Break. It uses the classic good guy / bad guy story line where they become friends and then finally fight it out. If this movie did anything right, it was the fact that it was so simple it became greater than it was supposed to be. I hope that makes sense... just go see it!
