This movie was great. You won't want to miss it on DVD when it comes out. I promise you that the story will sweep you away from your reality. Hats off to the creators.
This movie just makes you laugh. If the economy has been bringing you down, and you need a pick-me-up, this movie is bound to help you out. It is just great to see these guys making movies together. These characters are good separate, but together they make a definite winner.
The script and plot are not terrible, but lack the flavor that modern thrillers need. I found the long string of second rate actors slightly boring. This is no classic, but not bad for a rainy spring day. Cage has seen better days (The Rock, Con Air), but also seen much worse (Ghost Rider).
Cast: The bad guy from Ghost, the hot chick from Con Air, that other hot chick from Superbad, the mute kid from Mystic River, and a girl that looks like that girl from Gilmore Girls that was in Sin City.
In other words, a lot of "B" actors. But the plot is so original, that is very successfully takes all of your love, anger, hate, rage, and fear, and mashes them all together in a thrill ride. I liked the original version better, but its good to see on the big screen again.
They have finally outdone themselves with superheroes. I was blown away with the creativity. I know there is a lot of hoopla surrounding the writer not wanting to be attached to this project. I can understand that when this comic must have been his baby. I left the theatre wanting more, and the only place I can get the complete vision is from the original form. Well done!
I was disappointed with the ending. The young actress that plays his daughter is extremely talented, but the script didn't utilize her skills. I want one cry scene with meaning, and they gave me three without any real reason. This movie was so-so.
I found this movie to be somewhat boring because I hear about banks taking advantage of their power everyday on CNN. Having said that, the acting was great. The plot was ok. The script was average. The ticket was worth it.
I have never been a Jason fan. I have never seen any of these movies. So I saw that they were starting over, and went and saw what I was missing. It was EXACTLY what I expected. It had no real twists. I was entertained, but was not mesmerized. Overall I liked the movie, but I still think Freddy has got Jason by a hair.
