This film is about 100 minutes too long. It is merely a set up for the next film and all the action should have been condensed into 20 minutes or so. It's incredibly boring. This review is coming from someone who watches almost every vampire film. The only reason to watch this is curiosity.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Mediocre redo at most. Jeff Bridges is a good actor but he is no John Wayne. The original cast and film was incredibly better. This new version is so wordy it is as if it was written for the stage. In the original film, one seemed to care for the actors; in this version, there was no character development at all. Overall it seems that the producers wanted to make a movie, couldn't think of a better idea, so they decided to remake an old classic. Unfortunately, it is merely mediocre and not worth wasting time seeing.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
