Although Bottle Shock did not follow the original book “Judgment of Paris: California vs. France and the Historic 1976 Paris Tasting That Revolutionized Wine” by George M. Taber, as it very well could have and as most films do not, it was well done and a 'must-see' for anyone in to wine and wine history. I think a little bit of American/French wine history could have set the stage a bit better but, in the limited time afforded a typical film, the director must have felt the the love interest part of the story was more important to make this film more 'Hollywood-friendly'. Great cinematography and lots of great aerial shots of California wine country. Definitely one of the best 'wine films' since Sideways.
