Lot's of action, lots of predictability, lots of Megan Fox botox and rather improved computer generated characters. Not much plot. But if you like to see things blow up, and have no sense whatsoever of how big a blast would be in real life, then you might have fun.
Keep in mind that I didn’t even want to go, especially on opening night, but sometimes dads do things like that. I never got around to eating my box of malt balls because this movie kept me engaged from start to finish. Ledger’s portrayal of Joker lives up to all the hype so I won’t re-hash it. The special effects were excellent but the story line dominated: Mankind is depraved and TDK reveals many facets of that depravity. You’ll come away questioning which way is up (morally speaking), especially if you take note of the camera angles during Joker’s final scene. If you look for character development you’ll be satisfied. If you enjoy plot twists you’ll be in knots. If you like cool special effects, chase scenes and blowing things up then you’ll have a blast. But if you want everything to end “happily ever after” then you’ll find out why reviewers are almost universally characterizing this film as “dark.”
