WOW! What a great movie. Christian Bale does a phenomenal job as the crack addicted brother. I hated him, loved him and felt sorry for him all at the same time. What a performance. Amy Adams also did a great job. She's a long way away from her princess movies. Marky Mark was good and you see his character struggle through his allegiances. He did a good job, although I don't think this role was too much of a stretch for him. And he is a little bit eclipsed by all of the wonderful characters around him. This movie will take you for a ride. It is very emotionally charged. You will love it!

Disturbing

Where to begin... I walked out with a pit in my stomach. This movie is about the quest for perfection taken to the nth degree. You'll never look at it (being perfect) in the same way. He explores family, friendship and love relationships in three very distinct and extreme ways. I enjoyed the monochromatic aspect of the movies, shades of black, grey and white and colour is used to make a statement. Excellent!

It's a ride!

Prepare to be on the edge of your seat the whole time. There are a couple of "aw, come on!" and hollywood moments, but for the most part it delivers! Denzel is terrific as always and Chris shows some promise as a dramatic actor.

Nice movie. A little simple plot, but the cinematography is nice. I didn't like the cousin character. He was an over the top jerk and a bit too much of a quick turnaround. There are a lot of really good messages for kids and adults alike. Overall it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

WOW!

I went into this movie expecting to like it, and I LOVED it! It is a little slow to begin, because I was looking for a lot of more vocals in the beginning, but once it starts, it does let down. The cast is brilliant. Cher is amazing and Christina... WOW! I knew she could sing, but she's got a serious set of chops! So much depth to her voice and her range is increadible. I wish we had seen a bit more of Alan Cumming and Stanley Tucci. The love stroy took a little longer to develop than I would have liked, but overall, the movie was visually and musically extremely appealing. Costumes galore! I walked out wanting to see more, more, more.

A new take

I actually really liked the movie because it is a departure from a lot of the "fantasy" vampire movies of late. It was filmed with a lot of realism. The focus is on the relationship of the boy and girl, it's evolution and how he slowly comes to the realization of who and what she is. It wasn't action packed, but that's wasn't the point. A very nicely developped story.

This movie could have been so good....

This movie was good up to the last 5 minutes which makes no sense and ruins the rest of the movie. I like that it was filmed in the documentary style. It had some good moments, suspenful and creepy, but there is so much of the story that wasn't developed and (again) the ending was just crap. It's like they got to the end, didn't know how to tie it all together and came up with this lame ending... Not even sure it's good enough for rental...
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Fun Fun Fun

OK... While not as good as the first one, it is still very good. RDJ reprises the role beautifully and is even more egotistical than in the previous one. Gotta love him. I liked Don Cheadle better in his role. Special effects and action sequences are very well done. Makes you lose yourself in the possibilities. Very cool. Just all around good fun.

Just alright

As a big fan of the predator movies, I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this one. There is definitely action, some twists and turns, and then some things that just didn't jive. It felt like it had no beginning and no end. I liked the cast. Adrian Brody was just OK, but he did buff up for the role.
