Althougth I fear that The King's Speeech will not garner the $$$ and overall popularity of let's say the next crap action flicks that cater to American's with short attention spans and under the age of 16, I am as positive as I can be that Colin Firth will get the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in this film. If you are a serious moviegoer, this is a must film to see. It is truly wonderful and all the performances are top rate including those of Rush and Bonham Carter. The story is dramtic without all the flash/bang of today's action genre. If you are squemish of four letter words, perhaps you should bring ear muffs for the couple of dialouge segments where these words are not used in anger or hatred but as part of ..well I don't want to give awary too much of the plot Kudo's for the costume design work also. I felt that I was in 30's-40's England and isn't that what cd is for and not to distract the viewer from the story. Go see The King's Speech and be prepared to be moved.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Avatar is a movie that in the future, we will look back at to separate movies pre-Avatar and post-Avatar. The graphics are incredible and MUST be seen in 3D. If you have not seen this movie in 3D, you have not seen Avatar. 3D is part of this movie unlike other 3D movies I have seen in the past where the 3D action are like bit gags just to say that the movie is 3D. I actually liked the story line and thought that the acting was good I have seen Avatar in IMAX 3D and digital 3D on a regular screen and I preferred the smaller screen so save yourself a few bucks and just see it in 3D at your local theater.
This movie is a funny, feel good treat that everyone who has always wondered what to do with their life should see. Streep deserves an Academy Award nod for her warm and absolutely hilarious portrait of Julia Child and Amy Adams probably deserves one even more for her portrait of an everyday modern working women who feels inadequate in the eyes of her friends, mother and professional life. This movie is a MUST see. My only disappointment is a surprise near the end of the movie that I won't give away but you know life isn't perfect and like Julia always said...:no apologies and no excuses". Bon Appetite!
As a big fan of romantic comedies, I can overlook the usual cliche`s and sometimes even the occasional leading man/woman mismatch..but this is one of the most horrific movies that I have been to in a very long time. What a waste of talent and time..theirs and mine.
Toy Story, Cars, Wall-E, Finding Nemo and now Up...Pixar keeps coming up (no pun intended) with winner after winner. Great animation makes you almost forget it is animation and Up in 3D does that. And where Disney created talking animals with no explanation Pixar/Disney gives us talking dogs (good and bad) that talk because of translation collars they wear...SQUIRREL! Up is a winner with multiple morals for modern society,,, protect the environment..love your children and respect the elderly and living in the past can wear you down when you are trying to live new adventures, Great movie!
