At first the movie seems a little confusing plot-wise, but just as in the first one it totally comes full-circle and delivers. The effects were fantastic (especially the "running through the woods" part) and the acting absolutely superb (but could we expect less of Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law?) Great ride from beginning to end, very happy we went to see this!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I heard this movie was dark, but I didn't know just HOW dark it was. I left the movie feeling tense throughout my body, and also extremely excited because a film evoked that much emotion out of me - that's what is supposed to happen! The acting is unbelievable, the story is quite real (unnervingly so) and the cinematography brilliant. GREAT MOVIE!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Unreached Potential

The movie really had so much potential, but that potential was never reached. The only enjoyment I received was from watching the main character's (the boy's) movement...quite lovely and melodic. The 3D was not worth it and both the story and acting were awful from the get-go. Shyamalan seems to take himself too seriously anymore, and while the movie teases for a three-part series, the quality of this one makes it hard to want to see the next ones. Wait for the DVD.
Positive: definitely worth seeing in 3D, and definitely worth seeing in IMAX. Visuals and sound were stunning. Negative: found myself wanting the movie to end sooner than it did. I go to the movies for a good story, and this one has been told many times over. Also, the final battle felt a lot like Fern Gully on steroids, so that left me a bit saddened and disinterested. All in all: a must-see for the dynamic way it was shot and presented (so you MUST go see in 3D, otherwise not worth it), but don't go in expecting anything amazing as far as story and acting are concerned....just my thoughts.
Overall, this movie was great...and because I'm such a Star Trek fan I am going to see it again, this time in IMAX. Storyline not the greatest or true to the original series/movies...perhaps J.J. Abrams is trying to re-invent the franchise instead of re-ignite it? Character development and acting were great, and the movie can be enjoyed by anyone. Go see it, you'll have fun!
