Highly innovative. Might be unnerving to those unable to cope with a departure from a particular genre. It is both a Western and Science Fiction, and the mix comes out well. Highly recommended for "steampunk" enthusiasts.

Ground breaking - industry altering special effects. It is more difficult to develop a truly original story, and the similarity to "Dances with Wolves" has been mentioned, and I would add "The Last Samurai" as well. The climax could even be described as "Tarzan vs. Blackwater", but it still rises to one of the great Science Fiction motion pictures.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
