Exactly as expected

It's clear to see that the HP movies are "growing up" in style just as the audience they are geared towards has grown. This has the feel of an adult movie, without the gore or abundance of violence so prevalent in other movies now. Some of the stylistic cinematography is a little distracting (did there really need to be so much of the hand-held camera running through the trees?), but it puts the audience member in the state of confusion the characters are supposed to be experiencing, so it does draw you in to the movie even more. Overall, as the actors mature the movies do get better (Emma Watson has improved by bounds over the first movies) and although the IMAX screen was bigger than a standard screen, it was not as big as I was hoping or expected (this is the first IMAX movie I've paid for in a regular theater). Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

As others have said, it's a rip-off to call this a 3D movie when the 3D part lasted only for the opening sequence (oh, and importantly, for the 3D previews of the movies they want to you come back to see in the future). I was tempted to ask for my money back.
I also don't think this movie took up the entire viewing area possible on the screen and it didn't look any bigger than the ads or a regular movie, so WHAT was the IMAX experience, other than the privilege of paying more?
Lastly, the 3D was OK, but RealD seems significantly easier to watch.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
