The critics rated it poorly, but they're sooo wrong. It's amazing. If you have a father or grandfather who was in WWII---take them. Take your kids--let them see what our troops do to keep freedom alive and kicking in the world. The only remotely negative thing I can say is that I felt the ending was kind of abrupt.
Incidentally, the planes these guys flew, won the air-war for us! Don't wait for video---you HAVE to see it on the big screen!

Don't go expecting Academy Award material, but the movie was a fun, endearing movie purely for entertainment. Without being a plot spoiler, it'a movie with two people who believe they are failing in some way in the relationships they have and coming to the realization that it isn't them with the problems. Self-discovery with useful thoughts to take home, blanketed in laughter.
I think some other reviewers think they're true movie critics and are far too harsh. IT'S ENTERTAINMENT, pure and simple.

Great movie. Tom Hanks's performance (albeit only in voice) is reminiscient of his little boy to grown man and back to little boy again performance in Big. You feel the anguish of a little boy wanting to grow up, yet not wanting to leave his childhood. Any mother who has watched a child leave for college will have her heartstrings plucked once again.
The children were mesmerized and the adults laughed and were moved simultaneously. Definitely a recommend.
