True to original

My husband and I were more enthralled with the movie than our son, because the movie brought back a lot of nostalgia from the cartoon show. It stayed pretty true to the original and they did a good job on portraying those over the top races on the big screen. It dragged a little in parts, but overall a great family flick. Little violent in parts for younger kids, but fun.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
