a decent reboot

While the story itself had more holes than swiss chesse, JJ Abrams attempt to reboot the series was successful overall: there are enough nods to both the original characters and the first series of movies to keep Trekkers happy, while introducing new traits and relationships that will keep subsequent sequels fresh and interesting. Hopefully, this new generation will have its own "Wrath of Kahn" level follow-up in the future.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
