Not just for the fans!

This movie rips into action right from the beginning. I'm a long time Star Trek fan and the fact that they altered the timeline and altered events did not bother me one bit. One of the key things to creating a great story is conflict. And, this movie has plenty of them. Emotional, physical, ethical, etc. I am glad I braved the crowds to see this visual masterpiece. This is a true prequel and a true reboot.
Star Trek sets the tone for the movies opening this summer and it sets the tone for all future Star Trek movies to come. The director and the writers did an excellent job. This is proof that the're not one-hit wonders, but Hollywood's new blood!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
