thoroughly enjoyed this one! character development was on pace and in depth. despite the fact that,as always, good wins over evil in the end- the stoyline and final outcome was NOT predictable and totally credible. acting was super and this one had great soundtrack even though music was not something i would otherwise have even considered buying.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

both my fiance and i thoroughly enjoyed this flic!
like movies of the era that this movie portrayed, the good guys were good guys and the bad guys were bad guys. the heroes were heroic, and the villains villainous. i'd have sat through this one even if it were a couple hours longer. the characters were well developed, and if the aboriginal 1st person tale-teller doesn't win best supporting oscar, i'll be very surprised and i am sure that several oscars will be one by this flic.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

like many of todays, this book conversion was sort of a reader's digest version of the original story. liberties will always be taken with the original storyline to help with the print to big screen conversion, but i felt like the movie could have delved more deeply into many aspects and given the viewer much more of an entree and less of an appetizer. am quite sure that there will be sequels to finish the telling, but i believe this portion of the tale could easily have provided 2 hours of viewing instead of this superficial taste of ninety minutes. bill murray's portrayal of the mayor was great, but the subterraneab creature was b-grade 50ish.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

like any good chick-flick, the movie elicits a range of emotions. most viewers will expect a happy ending-and tears will flow when the credits roll. but i won't reveal the type of tears that will flow. the plot was not complicated, and lacked much depth. however with not much storyline to work with, gere and lane serve up credible and well portrayed charactors. personally, i'd have rather seen an action/adventure flic instead, but my fiance wanted this and it was tolerable. get brownie points and take your sweet one to see it, you won't die, and next time you can pick a really good one!

movie was decidedly funny. the characters, although stereotypical, lent themselves to some very funny lines. both my girlfriend and i laughed hysterically throughout the movie. no oscars for this one, but it was an enjoyable 96 minutes. kudos to the writers....
