Lincoln isn't an action-packed film, but it is nonetheless a gripping political story. It's uncanny how the maneuvering and struggles in 19th century America still resonate with a modern audience. Our politicians could learn from Lincoln's cabinet!
Pros great story, great actors

Good but I wanted more

Given the cast and Soderbergh as director I expected something great but it was only good. The early scenes showing the audience how the (then unknown) bug spreads are haunting and well-done. As the epidemic unfolds, the movie is at its best and you'll never look at a stranger coughing or a doorknob quite the same way again. The technical stuff is ok but if you know any of the science you'll find it contrived and if you don't you may find it wonkish. The societal reaction was interesting if predictable; but it also left a lot of loose ends unresolved, which isn't like Steven Soderbergh and shows either a poor script or poor production values. Overall, I predict this film will have a short run and be quickly forgotten, which is too bad given what it could have been.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Not high art but entertaining

No Oscar performances and the plot is predictable, even reminiscent of several other romantic comedies from recent years. But some good laughs and feel good moments.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
