Being a single parent of a 10 year old, I see a lot of kids' movies. It's always nice when it's enjoyable for me, as well as my son. The books were great and the movies have been great, as well. Even if the story wasn't interesting, this movie was so beautiful to watch it wouldn't have mattered. It is very obvious that great attention to detail was given by writers, producers and directors. It has, however, been advertised as a "great movie for all" but, I think, it was pretty intense for anyone under 7 or 8.
Very cute movie. Enough action to keep a kids attention through the whole thing. I'll never understand , however, the need to have a dead parent in so many kid's movies. As the widowed mom of a ten year old, I must say it gets old. It would be nice to have a few kids movies that are just fun to see without the emotional intensity. Isn't real life intense enough?
