This film had many problems, much of which stemmed from a flawed attempt to "reboot" the original series and re-imagine the original characters. The new Kirk is an unredeemable d**chebag who is so unlikable I would not believe anyone's willingness to follow him anywhere. But the whole time-travel-based opening premise makes no sense and is so insulting to anyone with a drop of intelligence that the whole rest of the film is just a ridiculous space romp that's not even particularly fun.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
