Honestly, this movie was very disturbing but I came away with the message. After seeing how this girl was mentally, physically & sexually abused by both parents and was still determined to moved forward, how can any of us make excuses on why we can't/won't push on. It was hard to watch, but this story is true for children all over the world. The cast did an awesome job. Monique's performance was Oscar worthy. I read the book b4 seeing the movie and the producers did an excellent job in staying true to the original piece. I would definately recommend this to a friend.
