Good action; decent effects. John Cusack lends his normal edgy humor to it. Woody Harrellson's character is a welcome departure for him; albeit a short part in this movie. The concept is one I wouldn't see coming, I'll give it that. I realize the world is supposed to end in 2012 based on the whole legend, but I didn't imagine this interpretation of it. Don't waste your time in a low budge theater for this one; either pay the higher theater cost, or wait and see it on someone's big home theater. Loud is good.
Don't get me wrong; I liked the other three movies. For obvious reasons, the plot line gets old, but the contraptions are kind of creative. As the review title states, I couldn't imagine going to the 2D version, as it would be no different than the other three movies. So if you're gonna venture out for this one, spend the money and go to the 3D version. Or wait and use the funny cardboard glasses when it comes out on video.
