This film is a history lesson for people who don't know the origins of what is described as Rock music. Jeffrey Wright was amazing as Muddy Waters. Mos Def, stunning as Chuck Berry. The actor who portrayed Little Walter deserves an Oscar nomination. Which brings me to Beyonce, I wanted her to do well, but I felt as if I were watching Beyonce, ACTING like Etta James. Beyonce has a great singing voice, but Etta James has a deeper, sometimes growling voice, something I felt was lacking in Beyonce's singing. Beyonce did a good job acting, but therein lies the issue, I was aware she was acting.
Let me start off by saying I liked the 2003 version of the Hulk. I am a fan of both independent and big budget films, but I lean towards dialog driven indie films - That being said, if you want action, you will not be dissapointed in this film. Ed Norton was a great choice for Bruce Banner, although I would have chosen an older Betty Ross. The only issue I had is the same one I had with the 2003 version - I still have difficulty accepting the character is real, when placed next to the actors. This 2008 Hulk looks less like a character made of flesh and blood, than the 2003 version. Both films should have been all CGI in my opinion.
