A pretty good effort by QT and crew. The movie picked up as it wore on, being divied up into parts. Brad is hilarious as not only a Southerner but his Italian character is one for the ages. The dinner jacket looked like it was swallowing him.
While this may not be the start of a whole slew of Star trek origin films, this one had alot to keep the older gen satisfied with the references to how things started. Good special effects, witty dialogue and a surprise visit made it a quick 2 hours. For the under 50+ gen this may have been somewhat hard to piece together, but a really worthwhile movie regardless. The only gripe was the villian Nero(no Khan by any means) was not fleshed out enough, but no biggie.
