Predictable and ho hum. A lot going on but not much investment in any of the characters. Huge plot holes. Bad acting from most of the leads. If you are 10 years old you might enjoy it but you will also have played a lot of video games and they have better cut scenes and slightly better CGI. You need to remember this is from the director of the Mummy series. Enough said.
The action scenes are competent but the plot is very weak and there is no character development. Christian Bale is still doing the Batman voice and really doesn't do that much else. There really is no point to this movie. The Terminator story is not moved forward and you learn nothing new. There is a reason these events are not even worth mentioning in the original Terminator. Save your time and check it out on Cable. If you have to spend money, go see Star Trek again.
for people who've never been to the movies before. The movie is too in love with it's special effects. Stupid, cliche characters. I haven't seen the original but it has to be better than this.
The visual effects and acting were far superior to the first movie. However, the it suffered from the same lack of plot and coherent drama. No character had any arc. They just moved from set piece to set piece. All though the battles were good and surprisingly dark for a children's movie, the character development was lacking. There wasn't much 'there' there. Add to the fact that many of the action sequences are very similar to Lord of The Rings- a far superior movie- and all the weakness of this film become apparent. Go if you are a fan of the books, it's been years since I've read them, but I hope they are better than this.
