This movie breaks some ground in terms of natural feel. The script is fiercely strong, but doesn't play "scripted." The actors delivered scenes, it felt, from within, with interruption, stepping on words, all the trappings of reality. The story was fresh and unpredictable, although it expressed universal themes of love, jealousy, betrayal, and triangulation. I personally felt the music was weak and the jaggy work-print cuts were jarring. There was also, for me, a questionable feeling that the film editor was trying to affect European style. Overall, direction and acting were great, and I came away disturbed. In a good way.
