"The Hurt Locker" draws you in to the lives of a crew of bomb specialists who decode and dismantle bombs in Iraq. It is riveting from start to finish. One of the great war films of all time, and possibly the best war film of our generation. There are scenes where you are hardly aware you are in a theatre watching the film, rather your vicarious participation causes your heart to skip and your breathing to seize as you are drawn into the action. The interpersonal dynamics draw the film to life, and there is a documentary feeling that heightens its realism. The film creates ambivalence about war and about the value of camaraderie and command, while offsetting that with true spectacles of courage and teamwork under fire. Dont miss.
