OK - didn't even get to watch 20 minutes of the movie because I had to walk out w/ my 3 year old. It is way too scary for small children. I normally have a medium tolerance to such movies - I have allowed my children to watch Star Wars and other more adult-themed movies. But I am amazed that some of my friends have taken their children to this movie and not complained as to how scary it was .. even my 7 year old had a couple of "eye-closing" scenes. It's a great Pixar flick, I'm sure, but NOT FOR UNDER 5 or 6. My favorite though had to be the preview before the movie started for a teenage VAMPIRE movie. What the heck is the entertainment industry thinking?!? We should have seen Shrek!
This is a movie appropriate for most ages. The storyline is a bit confusing and it could have used more "chipmunk music" to better capture younger children. My 7 year old thought it was hilarious - the 2 year old made it through but was pretty bored by the end. But, there are really no scary parts - and therefore, that gets you better than any Disney fairy tale!
