Yes, I understand there was little budget. I can't imagine that is any excuse to completely massacre the story. I can't be alone in thinking that Kristen Stewart's acting was GOD AWFUL. I was at a loss for words at the utter lack of chemistry between them. There was love and chemistry exploding from the pages, while the on screen performances of Edward and Bella made me feel that they were just - uncomfortable around each other, ALWAYS.
I absolutely positively loved it. My son (13) LOVED it. My friends LOVED it. It was overwhelming heartfelt, while sending messages about our impending social and worldly state in a comedic way. It reminded me of values that mean something in its simplest form. The animation was amazing - that's a no-brainer coming from Pixar and Disney. Maybe what made the emotion so poignant was the lack of dialog, so you had no choice but to feel it. I can only imagine that the reviews of the people who didn't like it, where unable to appreciate it for what it really was... different. Have we really gotten to the point as movie goers that we can't enjoy a movie because the lack of "character development of the robotic love interest". "Eeeeeeeva" I gushed every time he said her sweet name AND his. I'll go see it again before it leaves the theaters for SURE! Did I mention it made me tear on numerous occasions!? As heartfelt as it was, it was equally funny. The mini-movie you see with all Pixar films, well the one that played with Wall-E was actually my favorite so far.
Exceeded every hyped up hope and expectation I had. The IMAX experience really made it come to life. The entire cast gave stellar performances, and yes, Heath is the best Joker ever! If it wasn't sold out for another week, I'd go see it again... and again.... and again!
