Darkly Mesmerizing Burtonesque Fantasy

Although it was not what I expected entirely, it was a vision! The film was stunning. Depp was impeccable as always, and the entire cast was brilliant.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Well done . . . with one caveat

The animation was extremely well done; Pixar's skill is beyond compare! I truly enjoyed this film, as did my 8 year old daughter. My one caveat (and the reason that I gave it 4 stars) is that her friends, who are not as analytical as she, kept asking "why is no one talking?" for the first thirty minutes of the film or so; they are not image readers, and many children are not. The film might have been a bit too didactic for some small children, but the eco-thoughtful messages of the film really hit home for me and my child! I would highly recommend this film and encourage those who see it to note that though the film portrays an 'nth' degree result of our wastefulness, commercialism, and reliance on technology, it still offers a great deal to think about for everyone.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
